USM Haller assembly and disassembly

Until the frame is tightened it stays flexible, and that flexibility is exactly what lets the panels go in.

On the units we take in hand, three mistakes keep coming up. Someone tightened too early, and nothing fits until everything is loosened. Someone skipped the square check: on an uneven floor, the twist then shows over the full height and the drop-down doors stop closing flush. Or the shelves were loaded onto a frame that hadn't yet settled.

None of this is irreversible: a badly built USM rebuilds very well.

• We assemble on site, at your home, in your offices or at our premises, and bring the tools and routine parts (balls, screws, glides, castors).
• We can also build to plan, working from your measurements and intended use. The plan is signed off before any modules are bought.
• For a move, we dismantle the unit into modules, mark every element and protect the panels, because lacquered steel marks against bare metal. We rebuild it on arrival.
• A mechanical diagnosis picks up damaged ball threads, seized screws, bent tubes, tired castors and missing glides, which we replace individually.
• Finally, we tell you what the configuration will actually carry, and where to add a rail if your use calls for it.

When we price a job, the setting matters more than the furniture: a floor with no lift, a narrow staircase, restricted access hours, parking. Then comes the height, since above a certain level it's a two-person job, and the number of doors and drawers to adjust one by one.

In Paris and Île-de-France we handle the work directly. Around Auxerre in Burgundy, where our secondary depot is, it's the same as Paris. Elsewhere in France we decide case by case, when the visit can be combined with a delivery, a buy-back or a large enough job. Otherwise, we ship the unit as pre-assembled modules and stay reachable while you put it together.

We never drill or cut an original panel: a USM is reconfigured with USM modules, as our reconfiguration page explains.

Nor do we work on copies, which have different dimensions and threads. That check comes first, through our appraisal service.
