USM
Haller.

We sell original USM Haller in configurations from 1965 to 1990, with their chromed spheres and original epoxy-lacquered panels, and every Fritz Haller module authenticated and reassembled. We look after vintage USM from start to finish, from sourcing through authentication, assembly and reconfiguration to gentle restoration.

Two generations,
the same scrutiny.

We inspect every piece: connector balls, tubes, panels, lacquers, screws and fittings. We document its provenance, record the serial numbers and consult the manufacturer's archives.

01 · First generation1965 – 1985

The original production

These are the system's early years, with nitrocellulose lacquers, marked connector balls and period screws and fittings. Its discontinued colours (olive green, mustard yellow, ochre) are the most sought-after today.

  • Nitrocellulose lacquers have a soft patina with no gloss.
  • The USM mark on the connector balls is engraved, not printed.
  • Metal shelves have the characteristic folded-down edge.
  • The chromed screws and fittings are specific to the period.
02 · Second generation1985 – 2005

The system comes of age

Production grows and the E6 and EV1 finishes become standard. For a configuration you'll use every day, this period offers the best balance of price and quality.

  • E6 (brushed silver) and EV1 (baked lacquer) finishes are in common use.
  • The connector balls carry updated markings.
  • Panels hold their colour better.
  • Everything is fully compatible with current modules.

From sourcing
to your living room.

  1. 01

    Sourcing

We source in France, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland, at trade-only antique fairs and estate sales and through our network of collectors.

  2. 02

    Authentication

We check the connector balls, tubes, panels, lacquers and fittings, consult the manufacturer's archives and date each piece to within five years.

  3. 03

    Restoration

We do as little as possible: cleaning, re-tightening, and replacing faulty connector balls only where necessary.

  4. 04

    Delivery & assembly

We deliver in Paris ourselves, use Cocolis for the rest of France and a dedicated carrier for Europe. Installation is optional.
