We don't take pieces back and we don't do exchanges. Every piece is unique: we photograph it from every side and describe its condition, marks of use included, so that you know exactly what you are buying. A concluded sale is therefore final.
The only exceptions are the ones the law requires. Here they are.
Patina is not a defect
A piece that is thirty, fifty or seventy years old shows its age. When patina and marks of use are described on the listing or visible in the photographs, they are part of the piece you are buying: they give rise to neither a return nor a discount.
What we cover
If the piece has a significant defect that the listing did not mention, the legal guarantee of conformity applies for two years on second-hand goods (articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code). The guarantee against hidden defects also applies, under articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code.
If the piece arrives damaged, write a precise reservation on the carrier's delivery note when it is delivered, then email us photographs within forty-eight hours. The transport insurance then covers the damage, at our expense.
When no return is possible
When you buy in person, at the Puces de Saint-Ouen showroom or at an appointment, you have seen and handled the piece: the sale is firm. The same goes for sales between professionals.
A piece made to your specifications, such as a USM Haller configuration built to your measurements or a search carried out to a brief, cannot be taken back (article L221-28 3°). Nor can a service you asked us to carry out before the end of the legal period (article L221-28 1°).
Online sale to a consumer: the legal period
When a consumer buys at a distance, the law gives them fourteen days from receipt to withdraw (article L221-18). We apply it under the conditions the text sets out.
You let us know through the withdraw from the contract here page, by email to infos@lapierremarket.fr or by post to Nicolas Bret, 42 avenue Pasteur, 89000 Auxerre, France. You then have fourteen days to send the piece back, at your expense (article L221-23), with a carrier suited to furniture.
The piece must come back in the condition it left in. If it has been handled beyond what is needed to examine it, we send you a photographic record and the loss in value is deducted from the refund. We refund within fourteen days, once the piece is back with us or we have proof of dispatch, delivery included at the standard rate.
