A second-hand USM Haller unit in good condition currently sells in France for between €850 and €2,500 in the common formats, which is roughly two thirds of the price of the same unit new. These figures are not an estimate: they are the prices of eleven USM units we have sold since autumn 2025. We publish them here with their dimensions and colour, and set them against the prices USM shows in its online shop, because that is the comparison almost every buyer makes.
Our sales, unit by unit
The prices below are those at which the units were listed on the site when they sold. Every piece had been checked before it went on sale, and most had been reconditioned: frame cleaned, chrome restored, panels re-lacquered where needed. The listings can still be seen among our recently sold pieces.

Eleven sales do not make a national price guide, and we do not claim they do. They do give reliable orders of magnitude, because they are real transactions rather than listings still waiting for a buyer.
New prices, for comparison
In October 2026, USM's French online shop lists the E2 unit (152.3 × 74 × 37.3 cm, four modules closed by drop-down doors) at €2,379, and the M68 unit, with the same dimensions and four Soft Panels, at €2,288. The M66 unit, which rises to 109 cm on six modules, is €2,988.
Our two anthracite sideboards take up exactly the same footprint as the E2 and the M68. They sold for €1,500, that is between 63 and 66 % of the new price. Our olive green E2 credenza, deeper than the standard model and in a colour rarely seen second-hand, sold for €1,800, three quarters of the price of a new E2. That is what our sales show: a well-presented second-hand USM sells for about two thirds of new, and for more when its colour is rare on the second-hand market.
The gap is modest mainly because of modularity: a module from 1980 fits a unit bought last year, so a second-hand USM loses almost nothing in use.
What explains the differences between these prices
Our sales bring out two factors. The first is the number of doors: our three anthracite highboards are exactly the same size, and their price rises with the drop-down doors, €1,100 with one, €1,250 with two, €1,450 with three. The second is colour, as the gap above between the olive green credenza and the anthracite sideboards shows.
The rest cannot be read from a table: where each part comes from, the condition of the balls, tubes and panels, the unit's generation and what it is missing. We set out these criteria, in the order we examine them, in our article on valuing a second-hand USM Haller, and the authenticity checks in recognising a genuine USM Haller.
If you are selling
The resale price is not what an owner receives when selling to a dealer, since the difference pays for transport, reconditioning and the time it takes to sell. With us, an outright purchase is made at 30 to 50 % of the likely resale price, and consignment leaves you a larger share of the final price. Both options are explained on our sell your furniture page.
Frequently asked questions
What is a second-hand USM Haller worth?
Based on our sales since autumn 2025, between €850 for a coffee table and €2,500 for a tall six-door chest, with most units of common size between €1,100 and €1,500. That is about two thirds of the new price USM lists for a unit of the same footprint.
Does a USM Haller lose value?
Very little, compared with mass-produced furniture. A unit in good condition resells for around two thirds of its new price, and colours that are rare second-hand can go above that.
Which USM Haller colour resells best?
The common colours (light grey, pure white, beige, anthracite grey) sell easily and set the reference. Colours rarely seen second-hand, such as olive green or golden yellow, sell for more.
